Crewmember Security Incident

We learned today, that yesterday a major security incident occurred on a U.S.-based airline. A crewmember traveling in the pilot jumpseat apparently attempted to shut down the aircraft engines. Fortunately, the working crew was able to control the situation and land safely. The incident has been reported online and on different news media, however, it continues to be investigated.

With this, we encourage everyone to please be aware of your surroundings and maintain good communication with the rest of the crew. Good CRM is always the best practice. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your AFA EAP representatives via EAP Committee — AFA-CWA ENVOY AIR (afaeagle.com)

Thanks to all of you for your hard work!

In solidarity,

Your AFA Officers, Chairs, and Reps
